Interview with TV Guide's “NAIL FILES” star Katie Cazorla; Premieres tonight
Sassy, fierce and hilariously funny are just a few words to describe the star of the new TV Guide Network reality show series "Nail Files." Her name is Katie Cazorla and her claim to fame is polishing some of the most famous celebrity digits in Hollywood. Hailing all the way from the heights....no, not the bronx, more like Elmira Heights. This true New York native is going to bring us into her home and LA Nail Spa "The Painted Nail" every week for a daily dose of her reality.
Although she has proclaimed herself to be "The Queen of Nails" , there was a time when this was just a faint thought in the back of her mind. While this former stand comic and actress had been struggling to make it big she still loved indulging in the luxuries of life, like getting manicures. Then one night she recieved a pedicure that was so bad it made her cuticles bleed, it was then that her " a-ha " moment happened! She decided to ditch New York, take the little money she saved and head out to LA to open up her little shop that could !
This renaissance woman creative vision didn't stop there. Katie decided to take over the building next door and launched a popular clothing boutique and a nail-themed party lounge. She recently launched her own branded nail polish line and is busy planning to open franchises in Hollywood, Las Vegas and London. She recently added a hair salon onto her growing one-woman empire. And now a TV show, Whew! The series follows Katie’s fun, quirky relationship with her famous husband Walter, a multiple award-winning music writer and producer who won the “Record of the Year” Grammy Award for producing “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. Deeply in love, yet total opposites, this odd couple manages to make it work. He never drinks…she loves to party. The other characters in Katie’s life are as colorful as she is: her eccentric store manager and best friend who keeps Katie’s shop and life in order; her 19-year-old nail tech assistant who reminds Katie that looks can fade, including her own; her gold-digging, drama queen friends; and an unpredictable line-up of celebrities, who stop by the salon everyday to get a fresh coat and pass along insider Hollywood gossip. I got a chance to meet up with Katie Cazorla to interview her during her Promotional Mobile Nail Tour in NYC.
