Vendor Notebook: The Chartis Group allies with HealthPartners

The Chartis Group , a Chicago-based advisory services firm that focuses on management consulting and applied research, has announced a partnership with the Minneapolis-based HealthPartners Medical Group and Clinics to provide advisory services, program management and knowledge transfer designed to improve delivery of ambulatory care services.

Jackson Surgical Assistants , part of the Alpharetta, Ga.-based Jackson Healthcare network of practice management service providers, has expanded its national presence with the addition of Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill.

RealMed , an Indianapolis-based provider of revenue cycle management solutions for the healthcare industry, has announced an agreement with Epic to allow that company’s billing software clients to have access to RealMed’s claims editing and error management tools from within the same claims processing interface.

FSAStore.com , a New York-based provider of flexible spending account-eligible products and services, has closed on $800,000 in Series A financing. The round was led by Point Judith Capital, with participation by the Columbia Business School Lang Fund, Opal Moon, LLC and other angels.

Craneware , based in Atlanta, has announced an agreement with Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, N.C., part of the Premier healthcare alliance, to deploy Craneware Revenue Integrity Solutions to help prepare for the financial implications of health reform.

Forte , a Minneapolis-based provider of probate solutions and sister company to DCM Services, a provider of deceased account recovery services, has been granted two new patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patents cover the technology and processes used to source and combine public probate records and decedent data into an electronic database that is part of the company’s Probate Finder technology, and the automated process of comparing and matching the database’s probate records with deceased accounts receivable data using Probate Finder’s matching algorithms.

The Huron Consulting Group , a Chicago-based provider of business consulting services, has announced that its Huron Healthcare practice has launched RevenueAscent, a new solution for hospitals and health systems.

MEDecision , a Wayne, Pa.-based provider of collaborative health management solutions, has published the e-book “ICD-10: Improving Care Plans, Interoperability and Business Practices.

Health Partners | Premier Health Partners May Move Across Town

Southwest Ohio’s largest health system said Friday it has an option to buy one of downtown’s newer office buildings, built in 1988.

Fifth Third Bank Western Ohio moved to One Dayton Centre from 110 N. Main St. in late 2009. The 288,785-square-foot building was foreclosed upon in January 2010, but is out of receivership.

Premier has 700 employees at 40 W. Fourth St., and has had workers there since 2000. Its lease expires April 2013.

Purchase of 110 N. Main St. is pending “due diligence and further evaluation of total cost,” Premier said. It declined to disclose the price of the option or building. One downtown observer said the building is expected to sell for $3 million to $4 million.

At that price, “you’re buying a relatively new building for what could be a bargain price and you’ll own it at the end of the day for what could be one year’s gross rent,” said Doug Harnish of Market Metrics.

Sandy Gudorf, president of the Downtown Dayton Partnership, cheered Premier’s plans.

“Premier is making a permanent investment in our downtown,” she said. “When you put them on the corner of Second and Main, that has increased value. That’s the spine of our downtown.
