JUST OPENED: Patriot Place a perfect spot for Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill
Those of us familiar with country music will know Toby Keith from his numerous #1 hits, starting in 1993 with songs like: “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” “Beer For My Horses,” “A Little Less Talk and A Lot More Action,” “American Ride,” “How Do You Like Me Now?” “Who’s Your Daddy,” “As Good As I Once Was,” “American Soldier,” “She’s A Hottie,” “Whiskey Girl” and “I Love This Bar,” just to name a few. He opened his first TOBY KEITH’S I LOVE THIS BAR & GRILL, in Oklahoma, where he grew up, played defensive end on his high school football team, graduated, and was a derrik in the oil fields. He has opened many more restaurants across the country, but it is fitting that he has opened his very first TOBY KEITH’S in the Northeast at Patriot Place, in the shadow of Gillette Stadium, with his background in football. Toby Keith tried out for the Oklahoma Outlaws in his 20s, but didn’t make the team. He made their farm team, and played defensive end, semi-pro for the Oklahoma City Drillers. Well, first off, the place is HUGE! The central focal point is the giant red, white & blue guitar shaped bar, which is over 85’ long! At the end of the bar is a huge stage for their bands to perform on five nights a week, starting at 9:30 p.m., and drink specials every night, at the bar. They had a great country band playing that night, The Eric Grant Band. And, yes, people were dancing! TOBY KEITH’S is known for its “Whiskey Girls,” attractive female servers dressed in tight black tank tops, short-short cut-off blue jeans, and cowboy boots. Guys will definitely come in to ogle the girls; no doubt about it. Where there are guys, the girls will follow. I saw a good mixture of male a nd female that night; mostly a younger crowd, but there were also some people in their 40s and 50s; thank God!
