Super Hero Squad Online is a tough nut of a game to crack. I've been a huge Marvel comic fan since I was younger and the X-Men splintered off into a Blue team and a Gold team. I have a number of Marvel titles on my weekly pull list and I'm more than likely to pick a few others off the shelf depending on the story. I've also loved the different Marvel cartoons throughout the years, though I admit Marvel cartoons never could stand a chance against the DC ones. One of the only ones I never could "get" was Super Hero Squad, as I won't make the time to watch it, though I'll watch it if nothing is better on or the nephews would like to see it. It's an admittedly cute series that has all of Marvel's big name characters teaming up against various villains, but it's a series that's definitely aimed more at children (though there are jokes and moments for adults as well). I was reluctant to check Super Hero Squad Online out due to my indifference to the cartoon, and while it's not a great game by any stretch, it's a game younger kids and fans of the cartoon will enjoy.

My nephews love superheroes, but a lot of superhero games are a little more advanced than they're capable of playing. They'll play DC Universe Online, but they can't stick with it long and there are mechanics they can't grasp at all. Super Hero Squad Online is one that they can fully get behind as the game is incredibly simple to grasp and there's not much to worry about either. The game can be completely played with the mouse, where the left-mouse button is used to do everything from picking up objects to starting a combo (press it once and character will instantly combo) to spinning a ticket wheel or interacting with menus, while the right-mouse button is used for more powerful star attacks. If you let your star meter fully charge by either grabbing stars or doing combos, you'll then be able to "hero up," which lets your character do a damaging screen attack.

He has also had many partnerships with other famous superheroes (and some villains) including Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, Toxin, Punisher, Black Cat, Daredevil, Human Torch, Wolverine, Scarlet Spider, and Venom. He has faced such supervillains as Sandman, Mysterio, the Green Goblin, Carnage, the Kingpin, Rhino, Juggernaut, the Shocker, the Chameleon, Kraven the Hunter, Vulture, Dr. Octopus, Electro, Lizard, and the Scorpion.

Spiderman did not possess any superpowers that were very original or things that hadn’t already been done in the comic book industry at that point What was original was his nerdy high school teenager persona. Most teenagers at this point in comic book history were relegated to the status of sidekick. But Spiderman was far from that. He was a new type of superhero that had all the insecurities, anxieties, and problems that a normal teenager would, but also had the power of a full-fledged superhero.
