Nintendo 3DS Update Adding eShop, Web Browser
Nintendo will kick off next week's E3 gaming conference with an update for the Nintendo 3DS that adds an Internet browser and an online store.
3DS users will have access to the update starting Monday night Pacific time over the air. It will add an Internet browser, as well as access to the new Nintendo eShop, which will include "Pokedex 3D," an app that lets users see Pokémon characters in 3D. Users will also have free access to a 3D version of the NES game "Excitebike" until July 7.
The eShop will feature original 3D software, classic games remastered in 3D, 2D Game Boy and Game Boy "virtual console" color games, and more than 350 Nintendo DSiWare games. Nintendo DSi and DSi XL owners can transfer most of their downloaded DSiWare games to the 3DS.
More content will be added to the eShop on Thursday, Nintendo said. Upcoming games includes "Super Mario Land, "Alleyway," and "Radar Mission." Also on the horizon is a free app for a short-form video service that will let users watch things like 3D movie trailers, comedy clips, and music videos via SpotPass.
On the Pokémon front, "Pokedex 3D" lets users rotate Pokémon images 360 degrees and zoom in to view from any angle. Data can be shared with friends via SpotPass or by scanning special Pokémon augmented reality markers. When you receive data for a Pokémon, the AR Viewer lets you view that Pokémon image in real time and create photos to share with friends, Nintendo said.
The Internet browser also allows users to view content in 3D on sites that support the technology. Users can pause games, access the browser via the Home button, and resume play after browsing.
To update, navigate to "System Settings" from the Home Menu, select "Other Settings," and scroll the page right to select "System Update."
Nintendo's E3 press conference, meanwhile, is scheduled for June 7 at 9am Pacific time, where the company is expected to unveil an updated version of its Wii console. PCMag will be live blogging the event, so stay tuned for all the news.
Also on June 7, Nintendo will team up with Best Buy to offer Nintendo 3DS customers free wireless access at more than 1,000 Best Buy stores.
The Nintendo 3DS made its debut in the U.S. on March 27 for $249.99. By April 15, Nintendo said it sold "just shy" of 400,000 3DS units, though Nintendo president Satoru Iwata later said sales fell below expectations.

Nintendo Ds Web Browser Review
What can you tell me about it any reviews because the guy at gamestop says it sucks
i have the web browser and it has it's advantages and disadvantages. The speed of opening pages are pretty good(depends on how fast your internet is). i like how on one screen you see the whole page and on the other is a magnified version of what you want to see. The only thing that kind of bugs me is that, you cant watch movies/clips off youtube and listen to music on myspace profiles. Overall, it was worth the money.
